Al-Anon Meetings on Wheels
Bring Al-Anon to those who need it most.
Help carry hope beyond your Home Group or meeting room.
Meetings on Wheels is an established Al-Anon program modeled directly after the Al-Anon World Service Office Guideline G-22 .
Structured identically to any/every other Al-Anon meeting, a meeting leader reads the Al-Anon Preamble followed by a member’s share and then opened to others for sharing. Finally, the Al-Anon closing is read followed by the Al-Anon declaration.
Meetings on Wheels brings Al-Anon into local facilities across Suffolk County attended by individuals and families who may not otherwise have access to such support. Through shared experience, strength and hope, we help others realize they are not alone. The meeting leader answers questions after the meeting and refers attendees to this and other websites and Al-Anon resources.
Even one visit can make a meaningful difference to someone in need, the same way we heard the message that very first time, and it changed our lives.
You don’t need to be an expert to participate — just the willingness to share the support that Al-Anon offers so freely.
Service is a powerful way to carry the message and support others on their journey.
