Weekly Beginners Meeting

Welcome to the dedicated Al-Anon meeting in Suffolk County for newcomers — a recurring four-week program focused on getting started in Al-Anon.

Al-Anon's mission is to provide support to families and friends affected by someone else's drinking. This weekly beginner meeting offers a welcoming place to start. Here, you can learn how the program works at your own pace. The slogan "Listen and Learn" is a common theme at beginner's meetings like this one. You are not alone. Find a meeting.

Why This Meeting?

  • Tradition 5: The Al-Anon Family Group has but one purpose: to help families of alcoholics.

  • Step 12: Carrying this message to others is essential to our recovery.

  • Page 20.4, Al-Anon Service Manual: We keep Al-Anon's gifts by sharing them with others. This sharing makes Al-Anon the vital, forward-reaching fellowship it is. Our great obligation is to those still in need. Leading another person from despair to hope and love brings comfort to both the giver and receiver.
